The universities must follow the following criteria to be acceptable for fulfilling our admissions and compliance requirements into postgraduate programmes at London Met:

  • State that the sole medium of instruction at the university was English. MOIs for any degree programmes delivered in more than one language will not be accepted.
  • Be linked to a minimum bachelor’s degree qualification successfully completed by the applicant. Any qualifications that are less than equivalent to a UK bachelor’s degree will not be accepted.
  • A gap of studies can be 3 years maximum since completion with the degree awarded within 3 years of the start date of the course that they have applied for at London Met.
  • The degree must meet the academic entry criteria for the course that the applicant has an offer to study at London Met.
  • Be on the letterhead paper of the issuing institution. MOI letters from academic staff will not be accepted; the letter must be officially issued by the university.
  • Have a date of issue and the university’s official stamp and signature.
  • The applicants’ names and other personal details, including date of birth and gender, where specified, must match the degree certificate, degree transcript, and their passport’s biodata details.
  • London Met reserves the right to withdraw the applicant’s offer and request alternative proof of meeting English proficiency if, at any stage of the admissions and compliance process, London Met staff have concerns about whether the student is genuine.
  • MOI letters will not be accepted for any courses that require UKVI SELT or have higher English language requirements.
  • MOI letters will not be accepted where an applicant has failed a SELT during their course up to one year prior to completion.
  • MOI letters will not be accepted at any time when an applicant has failed a SELT after completion of their course.
  • MOI can be accepted where an applicant has an expired SELT (no older than 6 months), which would have met the requirements for studying their course.

London Met is offering these offerings for masters degrees in the January 2025 intake and reserves the right to withdraw offers if concerns arise about the applicant’s English language proficiency.
