History

The University of Huddersfield is a public university located in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England. It was established in 1825 as a Mechanics’ Institute and was later named Huddersfield New College. In 1992, it was granted university status and adopted its current name. Scholarships-

Merit-based scholarships- At the University of Huddersfield, they recognize academic excellence by offering a merit-based scholarship of up to £4,000 to international students for a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Accommodation

The University suggests the Storthes Hall Park Student Village and the Ashen Hurst Student Houses, both of which are owned and operated privately. Storthes Hall is located in parkland to the south of town, and it was built with first-year students in mind. It has en suite single, double, and handicapped bedrooms in apartments that house six to eight people.

Ashen Hurst Houses are located in the woods just off campus, and each house has between six and eight students. Each house has a common kitchen and living room for the residents to use.
