History

Bangor University was established in Bangor, Wales in 1884. Situated in North West of London, the university is host to more than 2,500 students who come from over 100 different countries. The university is one of the oldest educational institutions in the United Kingdom. For over 135 years, Bangor University has been committed to academic excellence. Student Life

Bangor is an affordable educational institution located between the sea and the mountains. The nightlife and the rich culture provide students with several entertainment options. The university has its own nightclub called “Academi” for socialising, has two residential bars, Barlows and Bar Uno, for eating, drinking, and hanging out, and the Pontio Arts and Innovation Centre, which is an art and entertainment venue.

The university’s ideal location is an excellent option for students who love the outdoors, as it gives them access to outdoor sports such as mountain biking, kayaking, and hiking. Transportation

Most university buildings are within walking distance from the city centre and student housing. Students can take the bus service, which operates within the city. They can use direct trains coming from Manchester, London, Cardiff, and Crewe.

Bangor has a road connecting the north Walescoast from the M6 to the M56. Students can take the ferry service to visit Ireland from the Holyhead. By train, Bangor is only two hours away from the airport in Liverpool and Manchester. Students can visit Anglesey airport if they want to travel to Cardiff during the weekday.
