History

The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) was formed on 18 November 2010 by combining the University of Wales Lampeter and Trinity University College Carmarthen under the 1828 Royal Charter of Lampeter. As of the 1st of August 2013, Swansea Metropolitan University became part of the UWTSD.

After Oxford and Cambridge, the University’s Royal Charter is the oldest in Wales and England. It became the Royal Patron of HRH the Prince of Wales in 2011. By offering a vocational approach from entry-level to post-doctoral research, they deliver clear, tangible benefits for learners, employers, industry, and communities. It is anticipated that the University of Wales will be merged into UWTSD in due course, strengthening the group further.

Campuses of the university are located throughout Swansea, as well as in rural towns such as Lampeter and Carmarthen. Dame Kiri Te Kanawa is the patron of the Wales International Academy of Voice, which is located in Cardiff, and the university currently has a business school in London. Location

The University of Wales Trinity Saint David is based across three main campuses in southwest Wales: the Carmarthen campus, the Lampeter campus, and the Swansea campus.
