History

The University of Brighton has a rich history that dates back 150 years to its modest origins in the Royal Pavilion’s kitchens. Since then, various institutions have collaborated to transform it into one of the top modern universities in the world.

Between the middle of the nineteenth century in Brighton and the middle of the twentieth century in Eastbourne, they may trace their roots. The institution has expanded continuously since it was officially recognised as a university in 1992. Every year, over seven thousand students earn degrees in fields as varied as architecture, pharmacology, midwifery, three-dimensional design, architecture, and automotive engine design.

The prestigious institution is well-known for its four campuses in the Brighton and Eastbourne areas. Approximately seven thousand academic honours are bestowed annually.

Accommodation

University residence halls in the Brighton and Eastbourne area have nearly 2,000 available beds for as little as £131 per night for self-catering. Additionally, there is independent housing and 400 rooms managed by the university in the private sector. Students can locate private rental housing and potential roommates at “Find-a-home” days.

Transport

Public transport is convenient for all campuses.

Services in Eastbourne are provided by Stagecoach, while those in the city and its environs are serviced by Brighton & Hove Buses. All campuses are conveniently located near Southern Railway line stations, which provide direct trains to Brighton, Eastbourne and Hastings.

Located in Brighton and Eastbourne on the southeast coast of England, the University of Brighton offers four campuses. All of these locations are easily accessible by train to central London and Gatwick International Airport, as well as to the beach and countryside.
