History

The origin of the university was found in 1867. At that time, the Maidstone College of Art was established. After that, the college changed names to be The Kent Institute of Art and Design, which started its’ journey with multiple art colleges in 1987.

In 2004, the institution was initially established as a university. And finally, this art institute is given university status and becomes the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) in 2008.
