History

St Mary’s University Twickenham (established in 1850) was previously attached to Strawberry Hill House, which was originally a small cottage with gardens. The River Thames enhances its scenic beauty too. A strong reputation for teaching excellence and a student-centred approach earn the university the full university title awarded by the Privy Council.

St. Mary’s has a long and distinguished history in higher education, as, for instance, 75% of outgoing undergraduates in 2017/18 achieved a 2:1, or First-Class Honours degree.
